Meals on Wheels
Nutritious meals, delivered with care, for older people in Sydney's inner west
Inner West Meals on Wheels provides meal support to older people in the community who've been assessed by My Aged Care, whether that's a temporary arrangement while you recover from an illness or injury, or ongoing support over the longer term.
What to expect
Three steps from first enquiry to meals at your door. If you're arranging this for a parent or relative, you can do all of it on their behalf.

About Inner West Meals on Wheels
Meals on Wheels often gets thought of as a service just for people who are housebound and can't cook at all, but that's not the full picture. Some of our clients are recovering from surgery and just need support for a few weeks. Others still cook most nights but like having a few meals in the freezer for the days they can't. Whatever your situation, we tailor the service to what you actually need.
Meals that meet national standards
Every meal we deliver is nutritionally balanced and meets the National Meals Guidelines, whether it's one of our staple casseroles, a protein based meal, a soup, or a dessert.
Flexible, not one size fits all
Deliveries can be daily, weekly, fortnightly, or simply ordered as required, there's no minimum or maximum order. We cater for most ethnic cuisines through our continental menu, including Asian-style meals, and we can accommodate special requirements like low salt, diabetic, pureed, or vegetarian meals.
A team you can trust
Some staff hold Certificate III in Community Services and Food Safety Officer training, alongside ongoing training and webinars run by government and aged care bodies. All staff and volunteers complete Police Checks and Working with Children Checks, and we have two First Aid Officers on site. All volunteers complete mandatory training. Inner West Meals on Wheels is a Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP) service, funded by the Department of Health.
Inner West Meals on Wheels service continues to be delivered under Community Action for Better Living (CABL), the approved provider of Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP) funded Meals on Wheels services.
Our meals
You choose what suits you - and how often. Many people use us as a backup for the days cooking is hard, not every day.
All main and mini meals include protein, vegetables and carbohydrates. Every meal is nutritionally balanced and prepared under the National Meal Guidelines (Australian Meals on Wheels Association, 2016), reviewed by Accredited Practising Dietitians, with each meal meeting set energy and vegetable content targets.

"The service is fantastic. Dad had a heart attack and a friend suggested Meals on Wheels. It's the best decision I've ever made. I give Meals on Wheels 10 out of 10, and if I could give 100 out of 100 I would. Very happy with the service and the wonderful volunteers who deliver."
