About our program

If you're a woman from any cultural background experiencing domestic or family violence or questioning your current relationship, reaching out for help can feel overwhelming. You might be facing language barriers, cultural expectations, visa concerns or uncertainty about your rights.

At the Love and Hope Hub, multiple service providers come together in one place each session, so you can access personal and family safety support, legal advice, housing and emergency accommodation guidance, financial assistance, employment support, and help with Centrelink - all without navigating each system separately.

What support is available

Support is tailored to your situation and can include safety planning, legal information and referrals, financial help for migrants, employment and training pathways, housing guidance, and connections to other community services. Free WiFi is available on-site, along with translated materials and information sessions created specifically for culturally diverse women.

Who will support you at the Hub

At the Hub, you'll meet experienced professionals committed to your wellbeing. Support is provided by Stepwise in partnership with Legal Aid, Services Australia and police liaison officers, so you receive coordinated care without needing to repeat your story.

We also work alongside TAFE and Carer Gateway to connect you with further education, employment and support opportunities. Many of our team members bring lived experience and multicultural understanding to their work, helping create an environment where women feel genuinely understood.

How the Hub supports your next steps

Women who attend the Love and Hope Hub often share that they leave feeling safer and more hopeful about the future. Support focuses on helping you understand your options and decide what's right for you, at your own pace. If you also need broader support as a migrant or refugee, we can connect you with our Settlement Services for help with employment, English support, community connection and everyday systems.

Frequently asked questions

What we don't cover
  • This is not an emergency response service. Call 000 if you or someone else is in immediate danger
  • We do not provide legal representation. Our Legal Aid partners on-site can advise you
Is this service free?

Yes. The Love and Hope Hub is completely free to attend.

Do I need a referral to visit the Hub?

No. You can simply drop in to one of our sessions at Lakemba or Burwood, no appointment or referral required.

Is this only for women affected by domestic violence?

The Hub is open to all women. It’s especially suited to women needing support with safety, stability or guidance during a difficult time, but you don’t need to disclose a specific circumstance to attend.

Will I need to repeat my story to different services?

No. Multiple service providers work together at each session, so your information is shared with your consent rather than needing to be repeated from scratch each time.

Do you offer support in my language?

Yes. Sessions are delivered in a culturally safe environment, with bilingual workers and access to language assistance where needed.

What if I also need help with settlement, employment or English support?

We can connect you with our broader Settlement Services for support with employment, English language, community connection and everyday systems.
