Families Together sits within Stepwise's broader Family Support services. If your family would benefit from early intervention or short-term support, we can help connect you with appropriate services in your local area. We also offer SETS programs that support young people to build confidence, develop life skills and strengthen their connection to family, school and community.
Families Together accepts referrals from the NSW Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ) and other approved referral pathways, including eligible referrals from community organisations.

We understand that asking for support can feel overwhelming, particularly when child protection services are involved. Families Together works in partnership with families to build on strengths, improve child safety and wellbeing, and create lasting positive change.
Our goal is to help children and young people remain safely at home wherever possible by strengthening family relationships, building parenting confidence and connecting families with the support they need.
We believe every family has strengths to build on. Our role is to walk alongside you, providing practical support, guidance and encouragement to help your family achieve the goals that matter most to you.
Support is usually provided through home visits, giving families the opportunity to receive support in a familiar and comfortable environment. We can also meet with you at one of our offices or another suitable location if that better suits your family's needs.
Together, we'll develop a personalised support plan that builds on your family's strengths, responds to your unique needs and works towards the goals that matter most to you. Throughout the program, we'll help you strengthen parenting skills, improve family relationships, build confidence in managing everyday challenges, and connect you with other community services and supports where needed. Support is available for up to 12 months.
Every family has its own story, culture and strengths. Our experienced practitioners provide trauma-informed, culturally safe support that respects your family's values, identity and lived experiences.
Our team includes qualified social workers, counsellors and psychologists with expertise in working alongside children, young people and families to achieve positive outcomes.Families Together is funded by the NSW Department of Communities and Justice.
